I can’t begin to tell you how many times I have been asked, “Why am I sore after my work out?” “Why is exercising so tough?” Whine…Complain…Whine…Complain…Whine…Complain..
SUCK IT UP!!!
If you are exercising you have some goal in mind. Whether you are trying to lose weight, gain muscle, become a better athlete, or just live a healthier life, you are undertaking the extremely tough task of changing who you are to become a better human being physically and mentally. The key to doing that is consistency, dedication, and HARD WORK.
Consistency is key because if you don’t stick to what you’re doing how will you ever see results? You wouldn’t pull your car over to the side of the road every 2 minutes if you were on your way to work in the morning. It would take way too long and you’d get there late and get fired! Once you start something you must see it through all the way to the end. WIN OR LOSE, NEVER QUIT!!
Dedication is key because if you divert from the plan you are not getting where you want to go. Yes, you’re still moving forward, but you may be going in the wrong direction. Again, if you’re driving to work, you’re not going to take a route you’ve never taken before. You don’t know how long it would take and you’d probably end up lost, get to work late, and get fired!
Hard Work is key in exercise, and in life, because you get what you put in. You can give half effort in your workouts and expect to look like “The Rock” or Jillian Michaels. It takes months on months on years to get those type of results. Of course you could take steroids and blow up, But who wants to cheat? Fact of the matter is this, if you give half effort, you get half results! Now this brings us back to why it’s so tough. Exercise is is just like any other journey in life, there will be ups and downs, good days and bad days, and no matter what you have to give it your all! Otherwise you’ll just be a lazy waste of space and you’ll get fired!!
